When a Leader Falls: John the Baptist, Charlie Kirk, and the Three Days of Darkness

When a Leader Falls: John the Baptist, Charlie Kirk, and the Three Days of Darkness

📅 Understanding the Ethiopian Calendar

The Ethiopian calendar is one of the world’s oldest solar calendars, and it is still used today by the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and across Ethiopia. It has 13 months — 12 months of 30 days each, plus a small 13th month of 5 or 6 days (called Pagumen). This makes the year 7–8 years “behind” the Gregorian calendar used in the West.

The Ethiopian New Year, called Enkutatash, usually falls on September 11 (or September 12 in leap years) and comes right at the end of the rainy season — a time symbolizing new life, harvest, and fresh beginnings. In the Ethiopian Orthodox tradition, the New Year is also called Kidus Yohannes, “Saint John,” because it is associated with the feast of John the Baptist, the forerunner who prepared the way for Jesus.

The Ethiopian calendar isn’t just a cultural curiosity — it’s a solar calendar, the kind God established at Creation (“let there be lights … for signs and for seasons,” Genesis 1:14). It is the calendar closest to the 364-day calendar laid out in the Book of Enoch — a perfect solar cycle of 12 months and 4 intercalary days. Many believe this is the calendar God’s people are meant to use. That means the dates we’re looking at — John the Baptist’s day, the New Year — are not random. They are God’s clock, telling us what time it is in heaven.

That means the day before the New Year (Pagumen 5) carries the weight of “the old year’s last cry” — a final moment of transition before the new begins. This is why the date of Charlie Kirk’s assassination is so prophetically striking: it happened on the very day connected to John the Baptist’s name, just before the fresh start of the new year.

🕊 The Timing Matters

John the Baptist stood at the boundary between the old and the new — the final prophet of the old era, the one who “prepared the way of the Lord.” His life ended violently, but his death triggered a turning point. It was after John was killed that Jesus’ ministry shifted into full force.

So too, Charlie’s death feels like the closing of an old cycle. The very next day, September 11, 2025, was New Year’s Day on the Ethiopian calendar. The new year broke open with blood crying from the ground.

🚩 Exalted as a Leader

President Donald Trump ordered the flags lowered to half-mast. That act exalted Charlie Kirk — marking him as a leader of the nation in the eyes of heaven and earth. Prophets like Kim Clement spoke years ago of the death of a leader as a marker of change, a signal that God was shifting things in the spiritual and political realms.

This was not a coincidence. This was a divine exclamation point.

🔑 Prophets Don’t Name Names — And That’s the Point

God is not in the business of making prophecy so easy we don’t have to think, pray, or discern. The prophets I follow — Kim Clement, Hank Kunneman, Robin Bullock — rarely, if ever, name names in advance. They speak of leaders, shifts, unusual deaths, and moments of exposure. Our job is to seek the Lord and watch the signs of the times.

That’s why this assassination on the very day John the Baptist’s name was on the calendar is not coincidence. It takes discernment to connect these dots. It takes faith to recognize when the prophetic word is coming to pass right in front of our eyes.

🌑 Three Days of Darkness

Many prophets have warned about coming three days of darkness — a time when it will look like evil has won, when fear and confusion will cover the land. Diana Larkin spoke clearly about this in December 2023:

“There will be THREE DAYS of DEEP DARKNESS where it looks like the evil agenda has WON. I will use these three day to FULLY AWAKEN the sleepers... On THE FOURTH DAY, your Nation will SUDDENLY BE RESURRECTED to NEW LIFE, as My MIGHTY OPERATION RESCUE WIPES OUT the darkness and BRINGS DOWN their CONTROL IN A DAY.”

Hank Kunneman has also prophesied: “Suddenly a leader will pass away.” And in his May 2025 word about “Weighty Matters” he spoke of “an unusual death” and major exposure that would shake the nation.

Robin Bullock warned of a “shot heard around the world” — a moment of violence that would signal a shift. He also said it would cause people to turn and take notice, triggering a spiritual wake-up call.

🔥 A Call to Watch and Pray

This is not a time to hide or grow silent. John the Baptist’s cry is still echoing: “Prepare the way of the Lord!” This is a time to repent, to intercede, to speak truth boldly.

If we are indeed in the prophesied three days of darkness, then we can expect a fourth day — a day of revelation, exposure, and resurrection. What the enemy meant for evil, God will turn for good. But the Church must not sleep through this moment.

⚔ Stand Firm

Charlie Kirk’s blood has been spilled in the public square. This is not the end — this is the beginning of something new. The timing with John the Baptist and the Ethiopian New Year is a prophetic signpost. The flags at half-mast mark a leader’s passing. The days ahead may look darker still — but take heart. God is about to move.

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” (Isaiah 60:1)
