The Days of Noah Are Upon Us: When the Floodwaters Rise Again
Share
Scripture Focus:
"But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be." — Matthew 24:37
Devotional Thought:
The rains are falling harder. The rivers are rising higher. From Texas to China, from Europe to the coasts of Africa—the world is drowning in water, chaos, and confusion. And yet, we shouldn’t be surprised. The Bible told us this would happen.
Jesus Himself said that the end would look like the days of Noah. Not just morally, but physically. In Noah’s time, the flood was the result of deep corruption, violent rebellion, and a world that had turned its back on its Creator. Sound familiar?
But God also gave us a promise:
“I will never again destroy all flesh with a flood,” He said to Noah, marking the covenant with a rainbow (Genesis 9:11-13). So, no—this isn't the end of the world. But it may be the beginning of the end of the age.
Flooding is a message. Water is God's ancient megaphone.
- Water cleanses — Think of baptism: death to the old, life to the new.
- Water delivers — The Red Sea parted for Israel but swallowed up Pharaoh.
- Water warns — The flood didn’t come without a warning. Noah preached righteousness for 120 years before the rain fell.
Today, we are Noah. The ark is Christ. The call is urgent.
Let us not sleep through the thunder. Let us not ignore the rising tide. God is not trying to scare us—He’s trying to wake us
